Laitlum Canyons is a great spot for sweeping and beautiful views of Meghalaya. The name ‘Laitlum Canyons’ means “end of the world” or “end of hills.” It’s about 45 km from Shillong city. If you enjoy trekking and adventure, you’ll love this place. The area offers long, rocky trails through lush greenery. Although the terrain can be challenging, the views are amazing. There’s a long stairway with about 3,000 steps that connects the village to the nearest market. The best time to visit is in the afternoon, as mornings are often foggy, which can make it hard to see the view clearly.

By Train: The nearest major railway station to Laitlum Canyons is Guwahati Railway Station (GHY) in Assam. You can hire a taxi or book a private car for a direct drive to Shillong. The journey takes approximately 3 to 4 hours. Once in Shillong, you can hire a taxi or drive to Laitlum Canyons. The drive takes about 1.5 to 2 hours.
