Nilgiris offers everything above and a lot of peace of mind.

Let’s know a bit more about this pretty hill station:
Nilgiris, translated as “Blue mountains” is a fairyland in the tri-junction of 3 southern Indian states – Karnataka, Tamilnadu, and Kerala. There are cloud kissing mountains, dense forests, rushing streams, breathtaking views, sudden drops, deep valleys, charming meadows. The Nilgiris biosphere is unique for its altitude as well as a unique ecosystem. It boasts of the most popular tourist destination in the South of India called Ooty & it’s little sister Coonoor.

The best thing about Nilgiris is its cold climate throughout the year. Ooty attracts lots of tourists in summertime. We will stay at a homestay in the heart of Nilgiris & experience nature in its purest form.

At a distance of roughly 270 Km, Ooty & Coonoor make a great weekend getaway from Bangalore.

  • Have pit stops at Wenlock Downs 9th Mile Shooting Point & Needle rock view points. These places are a photographer’s delight and usually covered with mist or clouds.
  • Break for a quick Lunch at a local food joint.
  • Start back towards Bangalore, drive through Bandipur and Madhumalai wildlife sanctuaries whilst spotting Deer, Peacock, different species of birds, mammals, and if lucky, the Elephants.
  • Reach back to Bengaluru before mid-night.

Seasonal variations:

  • Feb to May (summer): Pleasant climate during days, clear skies, cold nights. Time to escape the heat of Bangalore and hit the mountains. Exquisite sunrise and sunsets.
  • June to Sep (South West Monsoons): Thick clouds, weather is unpredictable with intermittent rains, so we need to carry raincoats. The mountains really come alive during the monsoons like all hill stations.
  • Oct, Nov (North-East Monsoons): The returning North East monsoons bring plenty of showers in these two months. These are the main source of water for Nilgiris. Traveling would be a little difficult this time of the year because of persistent rains.
  • Oct to Jan (winter): Dry and cold climate throughout the day. Very cold at night. Plenty of water in streams and waterfalls. Need to carry thick sweaters.

One of the most amazing journey I ever had was the visit to Nilgiris with Muddie! The host or the organiser Peter was amazing! He became a friend and managed the entire trip smoothly! Right from the food to the stay we all were very happy . The best part was Peter took us to some really untouched places in Nilgiris making it truly offbeat, we were never made to wait neither made to hurry for any thing . Truly amazing work! Keep doing such great work!

I had been to Ooty with Muddie Trails and Reshma was the captain. This has been one of best experience traveling with a group of strangers. Ooty is a really awesome place and I would totally recommend traveling solo as well. Muddie trails made sure we went to the offbeat places and didn’t have to face the crowd. Overall it was an awesome experience and totally recommended. After this I had been to Wayanad recently, the food arrangements could have been better and also rain was a big factor in ruining our experience.

My trip to Ooty with Muddi Trails and our incredible guide, Reshma, was absolutely amazing ! We had the best time filled with laughter, adventure, and unforgettable experiences, (including the unforgettablegame of Mafia that we played😜). The fellow travelers who joined us were simply awesome❤️, and we quickly became a tight-knit group of friends🤝. Ooty itself was a stunning destination with its breathtaking beauty and picturesque landscapes. The entire journey was flawlessly organized by Muddi Trails, making it an absolute joy from start to finish. I came back with a heart full of wonderful memories and new friends❤️, all thanks to Muddi Trails and the warm guidance of Reshma.
