The Koti Lingeshwara Temple in Kolar, Karnataka, India, is a popular temple, especially for devotees of Lord Shiva. The main attraction of the temple is a huge linga measuring 108 ft tall and 35 ft tall Lord Nandi idol, surrounded by lakhs of small lingas spread over an area of 15 acres. The most striking feature of the Koti Lingeshwara Temple is its vast collection of Shiva lingas. The term “Koti” translates to “crore” in Kannada, symbolizing a vast number, though the actual count is not a crore. The lingas are meticulously arranged in rows, creating a mesmerizing and divine ambiance.
