Dandeli is an ideal weekend getaway in north Karnataka for those who love nature & water activities. It offers a fascinating mix of forest, scenic beauty, and adventure sports.

Next in line is the temple town Murudeshwar that offers a spellbinding view of gigantic Shiva statue in the backdrop of Arabian sea. 

Gokarna is easily the most famous destination in Karnataka for the beach lovers. There are famous Beaches like Om Beach and Kudle Beach known to all. Interesting thing is, there are also a few more beaches like Paradise Beach and Half Moon Beach that can only be reached by a boat or a trek!

Last but not the least, Honnavar is a hidden gem of coastal Karnataka that is famous for it’s beautiful backwaters.  A boat ride on the Sharavati River originating from western ghats is a refreshing experience.

Itinerary

Day 1 - Pickup at Hubli, Dandeli Water Adventures

  • Pick up from Hubli Bus Stand & Railway Station at 9 AM.
  • Reach Dandeli, check in to our beautiful campsite cum homestay with facilities like tents, dorms, clean washrooms, dining area, campfire/music zone.
  • Freshen up and fuel up with a really heavy Breakfast.
  • Take a small drive to the water adventure area on the banks of river Kali, and indulge in day-long water activities.
  • Come back to the campsite for late Lunch.
  • (Time permits) We will explore one optional place near Dandeli and spend some time in a serene environment.
  • Chill out at the camp in the evening, freshen up.
  • Bonfire at night with long conversations. Your trip leader will organize group activities. You may also chill out and have your me-time.
  • We can play our music, sing, and dance under the open sky
  • Well deserved hot dinner (veg and non-veg)
  • Rest in your assigned tents or rooms.

Day 2 - Murudeshwar, Honnavar

  • Wake up call at 5 AM, quick freshen up, check out of our Dandeli camp (you can sleep during journey).
  • Start journey towards famous temple town Murudeshwar sitting pretty overlooking Arabian sea.
  • Have Breakfast on the way.
  • The journey from Dandeli to Murudeshwar will take approximately 4 hours.
  • Visit giant Shiva statue & the temple (11 AM to 1 PM) .
  • If allowed that time, we can even take a ‘lift’ that takes us to the 18th floor of temple Gopuram. The top view of the statue with the backdrop of sea is simply mesmerizing.
  • After spending good amount of time at temple premises, break for Lunch at a local restaurant.
  • We can also visit Murudeshwar Beach and play in water for sometime.
  • Around 4PM: Move towards Honnavar Backwaters and go on a Boat ride on Sharavati river backwaters. This boating is one of the highlights of the trip.
  • They charge around 1500 for a boat that can carry 6-7 members usually and take us to 2-3 places like lotus pond, coconut trees backdrop & mangrove forest. This amount will be equally divided between travellers.
  • Drive towards Gokarna late in the evening and check into our beautiful beach camp.
  • Have Dinner.
  • Social gathering till late at night and chill out.
  • Take well-deserved rest, good night!

Day 3 - In & Around Gokarna

  • Wake up call at 5:30 AM and get ready to immerse in spiritual joy.
  • Visit Gokarna Mahabaleshwar Temple early in the evening. It is the place for one of the Aatma Lingas of Shiva. One has to wear traditional wear for entry into temple. They will sell lungi/dhoti outside the temple.
  • Come back to camp, freshen up, have breakfast, check out of our camp.
  • Head to Om Beach, play in the water. Gokarna is usually a safe place to play in the sea in summer and winter. There are usually many water activities on the Beach to play.
  • Chill out and have leisurely Lunch at one of the shacks at Om beach
  • (Optional) Go on a trek to Paradise Beach covering Half-moon beach, Devil’s Hell beach, and Belekan beach.

Day 4 - South & Old Goa

  • Have Breakfast, check out of Gokarna stay.
  • We will go on a picturesque roadtrip on the Konkan express way through the length of Goa.
  • Our first stop today is Palolem beach of South Goa that has clean water and surrounded by hills.
  • We will take a stroll at the Panjim Conservation area. The places here are famous for beautiful Portuguese architecture, quaint restaurants and art galleries. And yes, it’s time to take those awesome selfies in the European style streets!
  • Check into our guest house near Calangute, freshen up.
  • Calangute is actually the second most happening beach of Goa (after Baga beach). It captivates with its golden sands, vibrant shacks, colorful people, water sports, great vibe, offering a perfect start for the Goa trip.
  • A relaxing evening at the Calangute Beach shacks followed by Dinner at shacks.
  • Wrap up before mid night.

Day 5 - Goa: A Day of Adventures & Night life

  • Wake up early morning, fuel up with breakfast
  • 8 AM shuttle pick up close to our guest house.
  • We will either go on a day outing on a boat to Scuba Diving Trip.
  • Apart from this, we cam also indulge in water sports like Banana ride, Bumper ride, Jet Ski and 
  • Indulge in deep sea Swimming and Snorkeling with life jackets after Scuba Dive.
  • To add to the experience we will get unlimited beer, snacks & soft drinks on the boat!
  • Return to the mainland by late afternoon.
  • Head back to the stay to refresh & rest for a while, & get set for the last night together!
  • We will take a stroll in the colorful and happening Tito’s Lane, chill at the most famous Baga Beach shacks.
  • Wrap up around midnight, reach stay and take good rest.

Day 6 - Basilica, Dudhsagar Jeep Ride, Drop off at Hubli.

  • Check out of Goa stay, have Breakfast.
  • Visit UNESCO world heritage site Basilica of Bom Jesus of Old Goa. This must visit in Old Goa offers a serene and culturally enriching experience. There’s also a small art museum within the church on first floor with a nominal entry fee.
  • Dudhsagar Jeep ride. 
  • Start back towards Hubli town. It will take 3+ hours of journey. 
  • Board Bus/Train back to your city.
  • The crazy, action packed trip is now over. Good bye until next time 😇

  • This trip involves basic facilities in terms of food, travel, and stay without any luxury, whatsoever.
  • This is a group trip with shared model. It may not suit everyone – especially for those expecting privacy and comfort. It best suits for people who wish to socialize.
  • Please do not book this trip if you are not okay with above points.

  • Accommodation: At a happening Backpackers Hostel with all basic facilities like cozy Beds, AC, Hot water, and a Restaurant. Location – Vagator.

  • Sightseeing: Plenty of places. See the “Highlights” section for a list of places.
  • Food: Self-sponsored

Seasonal variations:
  • November to May (winter, summer): The season for Goa starts in early November. Beaches come alive, and travelers can enjoy in the shacks and indulge in adventure sports. Most happening months are Dec, Jan, and Feb where it is usually crowded. Summer months (March to May) are relatively peaceful as it gets humid.
  • June to Oct (monsoon months): Not a great season for Goa. With the onset of monsoons, most of the tourist attractions would be shut down. Goa takes a break.

Do I need to know Swimming to indulge in Water Sports or for Dandeli Water activities or Scuba Diving in Goa?
  • No. You don’t need to know swimming as you will wear a life jacket. As per the rules of the tourism department, it is mandatory to wear a life jacket before entering the River/Sea during Boat trips and adventure activities. You can enjoy Snorkelling, Kayaking, Rafting, Banana ride, and many other water sports without knowing swimming also.

Things to carry

  • Toiletries, moisturizer, light towel, sunscreen, etc
  • Photo identity proof (Aadhar/Passport/Voter ID).
  • Cap/Hat (to avoid getting tanned).
  • Sunglasses (to keep your eyes fresh).
  • Your personal medications, if any.
  • Colorful Beachwear to indulge in adventure sports, take dips in the Sea.
  • Hand Wash/Sanitizer/Tissues (optional).
  • Camera, Bluetooth speaker (if you wish to).
  • Proper water bottle for your trip. You may fill water at our stay.
  • Disposable garbage covers (to separate used/unused, dry/wet clothes).
  • Carry some cash for food, shopping, and misc. expenses.
  • Don’t carry expensive items. You are responsible for your own belongings.

What's next after booking your trip?

  • A Whatsapp group shall be created on the trip day and Vehicle & Trip Leader details will be shared.
  • This trip involves traveling with strangers and night stays (if any). Please be mindful that:
    • It is mandatory to share your personal information with the team along with a copy of your government approved ID card.
    • You will need to share your co-traveler(s) details if you have booked more than one seat.
  • Live location of the vehicle will be sent in the group once it starts at the first point.

Terms & Conditions

  • The itinerary is fixed. No special requests to change itinerary/schedule shall be entertained. Travellers are not allowed to advice/instruct the Organizers (Driver or Trip Leader or Operations Manager) to change the itinerary.
  • Cooperate with the Organizers in following the schedule set for the day (especially getting up and getting ready in the morning). This will ensure travellers won’t miss out on the real fun part that is traveling and visiting all places in itinerary.
  • Every traveler is responsible for his/her for your own safety. Do not indulge in any illegal or silly activity that causes harm to self or fellow travelers.
  • Do not wander into the forest away from the designated trail for treks. There may be snakes, scorpions, and dangerous animals.
  • Unexpected situations: In rare scenarios, we might not be able to cover all the places mentioned in the itinerary because of unpredictable reasons like bad weather, landslides, wild animal presence, abrupt blocking of sites by the police/forest/local authorities, delay in travel because of an issue with our group itself, traffic conditions, etc. In most cases, if the time permits, the Organizers will take travelers to an alternative place. But in some cases, we may have to skip places altogether.
  • No alcohol & smoking during travel, treks, and other outdoor activities. There would be a separate window and space (usually at night) to have these at the stays for interested people.
  • Travelers are expected to respect each other and help one another. Avoid discussing sensitive matters like sex, politics, and religion/caste/race.
  • Using foul or abusive language, eve-teasing, arguing with fellow travelers/Organizers, and/or involving in the physical assault will not be accepted and will stand a chance of being deserted by the group then and there.
  • Every traveler is expected to digitally fill & submit a liability/waiver form given by the Organizers before the trip. This liability form will discharge Muddie Trails of any unexpected incident like injury/death/theft etc.

Cancellation Policy

Cancellation by Traveler

  • 50% refund shall be done if you inform us about your cancellation before 48 hours of the event start time. An email has to be sent to bookings@muddietrails.com to raise a cancellation request.
  • No refund/postponing is allowed within 48 hours of the event start time whatever is the reason (Health, Accident, Covid, Family crisis, Office issue, or anything else).
  • No refund/postponing is allowed for partial payment – booking fee – which is done to book your slot.
  • No refund during/after the event.

Cancellation by Muddie Trails

Muddie Trails may decide to cancel the event if there are less than 8 travelers signed up for the trip/trek.

What if we don’t get the minimum number of people for the trip?
We have 2 options in this case:
Option 1: Complete refund.
Option 2: Switch to any other trip of the same weekend or future weekends. The difference amount will be collected from you or paid back according to the new trip cost.


Cancellation due to external factors

Muddie Trails may have to cancel the event in case of external factors that are beyond our control like Natural Disasters, Extreme Weather Conditions, Red Alerts, Political Disturbances, Bandh/Curfews, Local Issues, Road Blocks, Train cancellations, Covid-19 or any other disease outbreaks etc.

In these scenarios:

  • No Refund is allowed.
  • 100% trip amount can be used for any other new trip of the same weekend or future weekends. The difference amount will be collected from you or paid back according to the new trip cost.
  • Once you confirm your participation on the new trip, all the above Cancellation policies will apply for the same.
