Arunachal is the least densely populated state of India which is pure, peaceful, unpolluted and unmatched scenic beauty. The most famous destination of Arunachal, which is also called The Land of Rising Sun, is Tawang. Muddie Trails, in collaboration with Monks on Wheels is presing a group trip to Tawang.
The Tawang valley, situated at a height of 10,000 feet above sea level is a sight to behold. Tucked amidst the high passes of eastern Himalayan range and home to The Lamas, Tawang boasts the largest Buddist Monastary in the country that houses 28 feet high golden Buddha statue.
The high passes of Tawang are home to many glacial lakes that are an epitome of peace and tranquility. To reach Tawang, one has to pass through Sela pass at an altitude of 13,700 feet. Sela is one of the highest passes in the world close to the international border where travelers can enjoy a beautiful journey sighting hoards of Army vehicles.
The stone village of Dirang, the apple orchards town of Bomdila, the Indo-China border pass Bum La at an altitude of 15200 ft above sea level are added attractions. Bumla pass is a great example of how Indian soldiers protect our country at harshest of terrains and climates.
The colorful and ancient architecture of monasteries & stupas is well complimented by the smile & hospitality of people, and rich traditions of the Buddist culture.

Had a wonderful trip to Tawang with Muddie trails. Met some amazing folks and enjoyed the trip. Thanks to Karthik(trip lead) who managed everything throughout the trip and made it pretty easy for us to enjoy the moment.
This was my first ever trip strangers and they are the best of the bestest.
Had lot of fun with them and Shoutout to our trip captain Srikanta for being super chill and making the whole trip smooth , stress-free and keeping our josh high with good games.
I went on the kaziranga + tawang trip with muddie trails and had the best experience!
The travel and stays were extremely good – particularly the curtains to protect against the sun and the hospitality and warmth of the homestays.
The itinerary was well planned and all places were covered at leisure. The travel lead, Srikanth, was very supportive and kept the morale of the group high by planning games/activities.
I met some of the best people on this trip, so I definitely recommend to give this a try!

I travelled to Arunachal Pradesh with Muddietrails on December 27, 2025. This was my first long trip with them, although I had previously taken weekend trips. The experience was exceptional, and I enjoyed every moment. I extend my gratitude to trip captain SriKanta for his constant assistance and smiling demeanor. Operations manager Arpit was also very helpful, providing support from trip booking to itinerary planning.
The trip was perfectly planned, and we got to explore some amazing spots. The group vibes were great, and everyone made some fantastic memories. Can’t wait for the next adventure with Muddietrails!
